Debra ZaslowDebra Zaslow

Debra Gordon Zaslow travels nationwide telling stories and leading workshops in storytelling and writing. She was ordained as a Maggidah (Jewish storyteller and teacher) by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi in 1995. She holds an MFA in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and she taught storytelling at Southern Oregon University for over thirty years. She edited the anthology, The Rooster Princess and Other Tales, Jewish Stories Repopulated with Spunky Heroines, Wise Women, Brave Crones and Powerful Prophetesses with the Jewish Women’s Storytelling Collective. Her audio recording, Return Again, features Jewish healing stories, and her memoir, Bringing Bubbe Home, A Memoir of Letting Go Through Love and Death, chronicles midwifing her grandmother through the passage of death. She co-leads a maggid training program with her husband, Rabbi David Zaslow, in Ashland, Oregon, and together they lead Shabbat weekends across the country.
